Keep pets cool in heat

The national heat wave is affecting pets as well as humans.

Tips from the Geauga Humane Society include not taking pets along on shopping trips.
The temperature in a parked car can reach up to 150 degrees in a short time.

This type of heat could kill a pet. Be sure that pets have shade and plenty of water. If a pet becomes sick, seek treatment from a veterinarian immediately.

For more information, call the GHS at 440-338-4819 or visit the The Humane Society of the United States website at www.hsus.org.
