Why is it that dogs get an invitation to Classic Park and cats are shut out?

Starting June 12, the Lake County Captains will open their gates each Tuesday for Bark at the Park.

Yes, that's right, Fido's in and Fluffy's out. Swing and a miss, Fluffy. Strike 3. You're out.

Hey, Captains, how about Purr at the Park?

Better yet, how about Pets at the Park?

Don't let Classic Park just go to the dogs. Let some real fur fly. Let us all in.

Sometimes humans are just too funny.

Take my human mother, for instance.

I watched with delight as she talked into her new cellphone the other day..

She kept saying to the person on the other end, "I can't hear you. I can't hear you."

She sure couldn't because she was holding her phone upside down.

Humans. Priceless.

Meow, we hardly knew ya.

That's because your owner fed you so much that you weighed in at a whopping 39 pounds, and last week you died at a New Mexico animal shelter after suffering respiratory distress and then pulmonary failure.

Meow was only 2 years old.

Meow did manage to get more than 15 minutes of fame.

He got national attention after his elderly owner dropped him off at the Santa Fe shelter.

He made appearances on "Today" and "Anderson Cooper" as he struggled to shed the pounds.

He had the world rooting for him.

But in the end, as one website wrote, Meow meowed his last, losing his battle with obesity.
